Customize Your Diet to Your Own Unique Body Chemistry
For hereditary reasons, your metabolism is unique. Cutting-edge research shows that no single diet works well for everyone–the very same foods that keep your best friend slim may keep you overweight and feeling unhealthy and fatigued. Now, William Wolcott, a pioneer in the field of metabolic research, has developed a revolutionary weight-loss program that allows you to identify your "metabolic type" and create a diet that suits your individual nutritional needs.
In The Metabolic Typing Diet, Wolcott and acclaimed science writer Trish Fahey provide simple self-tests that you can use to discover your own metabolic type and determine what kind of diet will work best for you. It might be a low-fat, high carbohydrate diet filled with pasta and grains, or a high-fat, high-protein diet focused on meat and seafood, or anything in between. By detailing exactly which foods and food combinations are right for you, The Metabolic Typing Diet at last reveals the secret to shedding unwanted pounds and achieving optimum vitality with lasting results.
The Metabolic Typing Diet will enable you to: Achieve and maintain your ideal weight Eliminate sugar cravings Enjoy sustained energy and endurance Conquer indigestion, fatigue, and allergies Bolster your immune system Overcome anxiety, depression, and mood swings

Customer Rating: Summary: Learn More about Nutrition Specifically for YOU! Comment: This is a great book for those who are struggling to find out WHY they don't feel great. If you follow the recommendations in the book, you could easily find an AHA moment and really learn how to eat to feel better.
Finding out your nutritional type is ESSENTIAL to good health and is one of the platforms that I use in my private practice in order to help people overcome their chronic health problems.
I DO recommend this book and/or it's companion website along with a nutritional advisor who uses its principles to every new client that works with me. And I'll recommend it to you too.
Read, learn and FOLLOW the instructions outlined in the book.

Customer Rating: Summary: Now this makes sense! Comment: Read the book in a little under four days! Easy to read but packed with information...relevant and fresh...this makes sense!
Customer Rating: Summary: The Metabolic Typing Diet Comment: The book was totally what I had hoped it would be. It has given me guidelines as to what sort of food regimen I should eat for my metabolic body type.
Customer Rating: Summary: Metabolic Typing Diet a Must For Health Comment: The Metabolic Typing Diet is a must read for anyone seeking optimum health. In fact, if you're plagued by vague symptoms of any kind, this is a doubly must read.
Simply put, this book's message is that we all don't thrive on the same kind of diet. Some people (like me) do better on a high protein diet, while others do better on a higher carbohydrate diet.
The author goes into great detail about why this is so, and backs up his assertions with considerable scientific evidence and studies.
So how do you tell what kind of diet is right for you? Well, there's a self test within the book, comprised of about 50 questions or so. After taking this test, you'll have a pretty good idea what your ideal metabolic type is, and you can design your diet accordingly.
Bottom line: This book is highly recommended.
