Editorial Reviews:

In today's live-fast society, poor health and obesity are at epidemic proportions.  People have seemingly forgotten to treat with reverence Gods first and greatest gift to themtheir bodies.

Building on the Ten Commandments that guide our spiritual lives, Henry Brinton and Vikram Khanna have devised Ten Commandments of Faith and Fitness, a scientifically sound resource that teaches how to properly incorporate physical activity into daily life and how to eat better, while building faith in the process.

For everyone looking to glorify Christ in their spirits and their bodies, Ten Commandments of Faith and Fitness is an invaluable tool to guide you every step of the way.Henry Brinton and Vikram Khanna have written an inspiring book calling on Christians to honor their bodies as well as their hearts, minds, and souls. And they are clear that as with our spiritual lives, this too requires dedication, discipline, and perseverance. Ten Commandments of Faith and Fitness is also wonderfully practical and encouraging, as it lays out a step-by-step journey toward physical fitness. The authors provide up-to-date assessments of the value of diet programs and various training programs, and valuable advice for measuring and staying on course. Many Christians have been notoriously poor stewards of their physical lives. Here is a powerful proposal for turning that reality around.

Summary: A Book That Combines Faith and Fitness!
Comment: I have honestly never read a book like "Ten Commandments of Faith and Fitness" and I was not sure what I was getting into. What a most pleasant and wonderful surprise awaited me once I began to read this book. Authors Henry Brinton and Vikram Khanna combine skills to produce a book that is more than just feel good talk but a practical guide for getting into shape and becoming physically and spiritually well.

The book takes on lots of areas of health including weight loss. It has an interesting chart that shows how much reduction in your calorie intake and how much you choose to burn through exercising will lead to certain weight losses. The chart is really simple and makes its point that by reducing intake and adding movement to your life you will get rid of fat.

The authors write the book with the attitude of committed Christians and it shows in how they guide you through their program of fitness. It appears to be well researched and based on sound health and wellness practices. The book is a worthy effort on the part of the authors and anyone reading and following this guidebook will find positive results flowing into their lives.

Summary: Speaks to the soul!
Comment: More than the usual fitness book which alternates between nagging and pep-talk, this book offers encouragement, hope and inspiration, as well as a practical road-map. From the spiritual wellspring, we are guided to care for the bodies and minds God has entrusted to us. It's still a daily climb for me -- but isn't that appropriate to the season of Lent, and our entire spiritual journeys? -- The Rev. Rosemary Beales, Ellicott City, MD
