Summary: Great beginners book.
Comment: This book is an excellent introduction into plyometric training. It starts with a good overview of skeletal muscle types and structure. Then it provides easy to understand descriptions and illustrations to develop a jumping and sprinting plyometric program. The book also has a few exercises designed to develop explosive punches and kicks. The book doesn't include any exercises with weights and a lot of research has been published since this book was printed. For example, the research shows that plyometric training is more effective when combined with heavy resistance training and dynamic resistance training. (Dynamic training involves explosively using weights that consist of 30% of your 1 rep max; eg: bench on a smith machine and toss the bar up.) I suggest starting with this book and progressing from there.Ted Weimann, author of Warrior Speed.

Summary: Good Job
Comment: This is another one of HFL's(Health for Life)good books. They have many good books on bodybuilding and strength training for individual bodyparts. This book covers the wonderful plyometric exercises which increase the strength of the fast twitch muscle fibers which are invloved in fast explosive movements. You will run faster, jump higher and move harder than you ever thought. I'm not kidding either. These exercises really work. There are exercises for upper body and lower body. There are even special exercises for martial artists who want to greatly increase their punching and kicking power and speed. There is also a section on how to use plyometrics to use more muscle and help bodybuilders get bigget quicker by using more muscle. This book is one of the best on the subject of plyometrics.
